My Story
As a mum raising twin autistic girls, life can get challenging.
I felt isolated and lost myself in my caregiving role. It was extremely easy to hide behind labels, but this not only masked my true self, I also lost my self-esteem. In order to reclaim my identity, I had to remind myself that I was more than capable and deserved to pursue my own interests and passions.
In April 2020, Meraki HavenCare was set up to provide a supported living service for women with mental health challenges. Rapha Haven Supported Living was also set up in June 2020 to assist children with learning disabilities.
I have a deep passion for the education of the girl child and empowering mothers to have big dreams and achieve their goals. Looking back at my life and my struggles as a working mum, not just a mum, but one with children with additional needs, I decided to dedicate myself to breaking down barriers which prevented women from reaching their goals .
Through MumRevamped, I hope to impact other women’s lives positively, increase their marketability and visibility to set up small businesses, land fulfilling jobs through career coaching, CV creation and interview techniques. I intend to inspire and encourages mums, especially special needs mums, to achieve excellence when they want to discover their voice, vocalise their value and worth and live life on their terms.
My vision is to help mums balance their key responsibilities as professionals, business owners, caregivers and to improve their overall well-being, creating a community where they can thrive, lead, inspire others and become the best version of themselves.
Overall, my message is simple – “Who cares for the caregiver?”
