My name is Gifty (known affectionately as Gee), and I am incredibly thrilled to be writing my first-ever blog post.
Through this blog, I hope to connect to, and inspire special mothers, promote well-being and self-care, and let you know that, despite the curve balls life throws at us, having a balanced career, side hustle and living a fulfilled life is possible. I am so excited to share my experiences and my journey with you. So we can all learn and grow together.
By way of introduction, I will start by telling you fifteen things about myself.
- I am a mother to four beautiful girls.
- My twin girls are on the Autistic spectrum and suffer from epilepsy.
- I am a professional in the Financial Services industry.
- The one thing that never gets left behind is my make-up bag… ever.
- Much to my children’s dismay, I love taking photographs wherever I go.
- I look for positivity in all things.
- My favourite book is The seven effective habits of highly effective people.
- My next intended holiday destination is the Maldives.
- My favourite cuisine is Thai.
- The thing I find most attractive in a person is humility.
- I can cook the most fantastic jollof rice, a popular Ghanaian dish.
- The scariest adventure was going to the Kakum National Park in Ghana.
- Phyllis is my childhood best friend. We are friends to this day, and with a beautiful girl on the Autistic spectrum, we get to share our tears, laughter and journey.
- The most embarrassing thing happened to me when my Maid of Honour dress ripped at Phyllis’s wedding.
- Finally, despite all the odds stacked against me, I intend to dream, achieve and empower other special mums.
Thanks for joining me on this rollercoaster of a ride, and I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
What a reminder of taking the punches and rolling with it as best as you can!
